EPF Form 11 is a declaration form which has to be submitted by an employee when taking up new employment in an organization which offers EPF Scheme (Employees Provident Fund). This form contains basic information regarding the employee like – name, date of birth, contact details, previous employment details, KYC (Aadhar, Bank account, PAN etc) details.
As of now, when you are joining a new employer, and if you have contributed to EPF in your previous employment then you have to submit both Form No. 11 (Declaration form) and Form No. 13 (for PF transfer from old EPF account to you new EPF account).
The EPFO has recently (23-Sep-2016) issued a notification on new EPF Form 11. The new Form 11 is a one page declaration form and a simplified version of the existing Form 11.
Latest update (27-Sep-2017) : The EPFO has released a revised Form – 11. This new Composite Declaration Form replaces the existing Form-11 and can also be used for automatic transfer of EPF account on job switch. For more details, kindly visit this link and ignore the details given in this article.
As per the notification, the Declaration Form (New Form No. 11) will also replace Form No. 13 in all such cases where existing EPF member makes a request for transfer of his fund availing the facility of UAN (Universal Account Number).
So, if you have been allotted a UAN number and your KYC details have been verified by your previous employer, you can just submit new EPF Form 11 to your new employer. You can access this new EPF Form 11 through UAN member portal. There is no need to submit Form No. 13.

Hi Sir,
I ve resigned from company on March 2017, and i am trying to withdraw my PF in full now. My UAN is activated. I had updated Aadhar info in UAN portal 2 months back, but showing as still approval pending. Also I got my aadhar card only an year after joining my previous company, so unlikely i might have filled the new FORM 11. How can i go ahead in claiming my full PF amount. Is it possible online? Or else if i need to go to the previous employer, which forms do i submit, the composite 19/10C aadhar or the composite 19/10C non- aadhar. A help much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jai
Dear Jaisan,
Are you employed now and contributing to EPF scheme again?
You may kindly go through this article, to understand the process on online EPF withdrawal..
If online withdrawal is not possible, you may submit new CCF forms to your ex-employer.
Dear Sir
I am working for an organisation as per the declaration scheme of the govt, I need to add many employees for PF. Now is it possible to do the same if the employee does not have a PAN card.
Dear shaini ..I believe that PAN card is not mandatory for subscribing to EPF scheme (as of now).
Linking Aadhar number should be considered..
Dear Srikanth, I run a school in Vinukonda,AP with an approx.strength of 250 students and about 15 staff members excluding me, as Director. Will my school come under the purview of ESI and PF ? We have 3 trainee teachers and 2 sweepers working for us and, not included in the pay roll. Please help me with the necessary info. Thanks.
Dear Jayaraju,
CA would be the right person to advice you on this matter.
At present, provident fund is mandatory in establishments hiring 20 people or more.
Dear Sreekanth,
Can you please advice on ESI
“If the employee gross salary/wage is more than applicability limit (Rs.15000) will he be eligible for ESI?”
Dear Keerthi,
I think the wage limit has been increased up to Rs 21,000. So, the employee can be eligible for ESI.
If the wage limit is greater than Rs.2100?
If the salary/wage is greater than the limit Rs.21000, then will the employee eligible for ESI?
Hi,
We have an employee who at the time of joining is above PF applicability limit and he submitted Form11.So we didnt add him for PF.Now after 1 year he is requesting to aad him for PF benefit. Is there any possibility to add him from current month. Please advice
Dear Keerthi ..Has he/she contributed to EPF scheme earlier with previous employer (if any)??
No he doesn’t have a PF account in previous organisation. Please let me know the other alternate also i.e., if he has PF account in previous organisation
Dear Keerthi,
If he had contributed to EPF scheme earlier through his previous employer, it is mandatory for him to contribute to EPF Scheme, if the same is available in the new organization.
Hi Sreekanth,
Please advice me in this case – ” Suppose the employee doesnt have a PF account in previous companies and he submitted form 11 in our organization at the time of joining as he salary is above PF wage limit. Now he is willing to contribute for PF.Then ,can we add him from current month?
Dear Keerthi,
I believe, you can add him to the EPF Scheme. But do let him/her know that once an employee starts contributing to EPF scheme, he may have to keep his contributions going.
Thank-you for the help and prompt response
Hi I left my last job on march2014 without notice for some reason. I worked there for just two months. Now I work at a company in my home town and they are starting pf from this month. They want me to fill form 11. Can I fill the form as applying for EPF for the first time? I don’t know my previous pf or uan no and nor do I have any source to get it. Will that work? I am not concerned about the amount on that account. Plz reply
Dear Arijeet,
In case if your previous company had created UAN and linked your old EPF a/c , and if your present company creates a new UAN with same Personal details (your name, aadhar numbre, DOB, etc), this can lead to duplicate UAN scenario. In such a case, EPFO may ask you to transfer old PF a/c monies to new one and they will automatically deactivate old UAN number.

I did not had aadhar at that time. I got my aadhar on April 2015.
Dear Arijeet ..The other details can match right..

1.My current company is activated UAN and i updated my kyc documents in UAN portal and my current company also approved, myself linked my previous company in UAN…So i can withdraw my previous company pf through my UAN.
2., Any other processes to withdraw PF in online from my previous company?.
Dear krishna,
1 – You can not withdraw, but you can TRANSFER your old EPF a/c monies to your new EPF ac.
hi Sreekant,
i am joining new organisation and my basic+ da is more than 15000,can i get exemption from pf or i have to fill form -11 to get exemption from pf
Dear chaitanya..If you have already contributed to EPF in your earlier company then you have to continue the contributions to EPF scheme (if your new Co offers it). Check with your new employer and submit Form 11 declaration form.
My previous employer had a private EPF trust and new employer uses EPFO. My previous employer had already approved KYC in UAN site. In the case of private trust also is form-13 is sufficient to transfer my account?
Dear Krishnakumar,
If you have been allotted a UAN number and your KYC details have been verified by your previous employer, you can just submit new EPF Form 11 to your new employer. You can access this new EPF Form 11 through UAN member portal. There is no need to submit Form No. 13.
You may kindly cross-verify this with your new employer too.

Hi Sreekanth,
Thanks for sharing wonderful articles.
My brother sold my fathers house after my father died. I received my share of 30 lakhs INR in my account through this property sale. Do I need to pay tax for this amount? If Yes how it will be calculated please?
Please provide your comments.
Dear prabhakar,
It can be considered as a Gift or amount received through inheritance, it is tax-free.
But if you invest this money say in a Bank FD and receives interest income then it is subject to taxes.
You may show this income as Exempt income when filing your income tax return.
