As you may be aware, the EPFO has launched an online EPF claim facility during the month of May (2017). This is a great initiative by the EPFO. This online PF withdrawal facility is beneficial for both PF subscribers and employees of EPFO.
Besides the online EPF withdrawal facility, an EPF subscriber (employee) can also submit his/her offline PF claims through new Composite Claim Forms.
However, it has been observed that the online EPF withdrawal facility has often been shut down for maintenance activities, due to which the employees are unable to withdraw PF online.
One of my blog reader’s has suggested an another alternative for making online EPF withdrawals i.e, through Govt’s UMANG App.
UMANG (Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance) is envisaged to make e-governance ‘mobile first’. It is developed by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD).
UMANG is one single mobile APP for availing various government (central/state) services online. It is expected that the app will soon integrate almost 200 government services by 2019. You can download this single mobile app instead of multiple apps for each department and can easily avail many Govt services at your finger tips.
As of now, you can find very popular services related to EPFO, PAN, NPS, Aadhaar, Passport, AICTE, CBSE, Pathshala, GST, HP Gas, Bharat Gas, Indane Gas, PMAY, DigiLocker, National Scholarships etc., on UMANG.
UMANG app has an exclusive tab for EPFO related services. It offers both employer and employee-centric services. Under employee services option, you can avail below services;

The UMANG APP can also be downloaded by giving a missed call 9718397183 or from UMANG website. Erstwhile EPF mobile services will soon be discontinued.
A word of advice – Your EPF contributions / savings are meant for your retirement (long-term). So, think twice before you withdraw your PF money. Try out all the options and sources to fund your expenses or needs. EPF Partial Withdrawals should be your last resort.
Latest update (03-May-2018) : EPFO Introduces ‘View Pension Passbook’ Service for the pensioners through Umang App. On clicking ‘View Passbook’ option in Umang app , it requires PPO Number (Pension Payment Order) and Date of Birth information to be entered by the pensioner. After successful validation of the information fed, an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number of the pensioner. On entering OTP, ‘Pensioner Passbook’ will display the details of the pensioner like Name, DOB along with last pension credited information. The facility to download the financial year wise complete pass book details is also available.

hi,I applied form 10c on 14th April & form 19 on 15th April through umang app but still my status showing under process as already 15 days passed.suggest me what to do??

Did you apply for full EPF withdrawal?
Mostly your ex-employer might not have updated your Date of Exit and Date of Joining in your service history. Kindly contact them. Once they update these details, you will get to see the options for EPF withdrawal (Form 19) and EPS withdrawal (Form 10c).

My previous company A’s PF account is transferred to company B. In the member passbook of company B is showing only EPF amount of company A, EPS amount is not transferred. Now i want to close my PF account permanently and want to withdraw full EPF and EPS amount.
I worked in company A for 17 months and Company B for 2 Months.
Q1. Now when m trying to withdraw my EPS amount through UMANG app, system shows only current PF account in dropdown for selection(i.e. company B’s PF account)and when m selecting the current PF account then system shows the error message as m 'DATE OF EXIT IS LESS THAN 2 MONTHS FROM TODAY OR TOTAL SERVICE IS LESS THAN 6 MONTHS' ( i think in this case system takes date from company B's PF account where i worked for 2 months but the same EPS belongs to Company A's PF where i worked for almost 17 months)
Kindly help me with the confusion and what m I suppose to do now?

On successful transfer of EPF, EPS also gets transferred, but EPS balance is not reflected in Passbook.
However, the service period and pension contributions get carried forward in EPFO databases.
Probably, due to short service the online claim facility wont accept online request. You may have to go ahead with offline withdrawal.Or Kindly contact the EPFO..click here..

I have applied form 19 on 6th April 2018 and form 10c on 10th April 2018 through umang app..and the status is showing sent to field office on 11 april and is under process...It's been more then 10 days now and still the status is under process only I have no idea when I will receive money in my account.. Dear Sijo ..The amount generally gets credited within 2 to 5 business days from claim settlement date.
Dear Ganesh .. Some tech issues @ EPF online processing facility, could be the reason for the delay.

Dear Sijo .. During the first two weeks of April there were some tech issues with EPFO online claim processing facility. You may soon get your monies (may be within a week or so).
I have applied for of withdrawal using umang app on 6/4/18. It is still showing claim submitted at portal and now new employer pf a/c started reflecting. Will there be any issue

This app is useless, I submitted pf withdrawal with form 10c successfully more than 15 days back, but pf amount not yet transferred to my account. Whener I track claim it just shows a message 'Online claim submitted at portal' an show a tracking ID since last 2 weeks.
