Hi,
Suggest you to invest in Equities only if you have time to do research/study companies businesses and understand the same. Else, as a retain investor, you can stick to equity oriented mutual funds.
If you are looking at long-term investments, any stock broker should be fine. Suggest you to stick to big brokers who have linkage to banks, ex : HDFC Securities, ICICI Direct, Kotak securities etc.,
You can also have a look at index based funds (Passive funds), to take exposure to index based stocks.

While the share market is full of uncertainties, specific tried-and-tested methods help boost the investors' chances for long-term success. Some traders lock-in profits by selling the appreciated investments and hold on to the under performing stocks with the hope of a rebound. But good stocks can climb further, and weak stocks risk zeroing out entirely.
There are many methods of earning money apart from regular income. One of them is a stock market investment that holds lots of importance and expectations of investors. They wish to invest for the long term so that they can earn benefits for an extended period.
- The value of a stock may increase or decrease because of hype or rumour. But nobody can predict the movement of the share price
- In the stock market, money generates in the long run and rotates in the short run
- A long-term investment plan favours compounding
- Short-term fluctuations and long-term growth repeats in the share market history
