Dear Senthil, Congratulations on becoming a Father! Happy Parenting :) Thank you for following my blog posts! Glad to know that you are pro-active with your investments and already planning to invest for your new born kid. Kudos! As both of you are investing for a common goal, you may pick (out the above schemes) : Franklin Prima Fund, ICICI Bluechip & SBI Small cap.   Related articles :

@Sreekanth,
Can I budge in and ask one question please.
When wife and husband are saving towards a common goal, A) is it better to invest 50% each in the same funds? B) or is it better to treat the entire portfolio as one and divide the funds according to convenience?

@Senthil Kumar, Congratulations 🙂

Dear Hima Bindu,
I would be opt for Option B.
(There is no right or wrong approach here, it’s a matter of convenience and discipline.)
