Provident fund

Gopalakrishnan S asked 7 years ago
Dear Executive, I was in a regular employment with monthly PF contribution till Nov 2016. Since then no contribution towards PF and I have not withdrawn my PF. I turned 58 yrs of age in Jun 2018. My queries – 1. My PF Balance shows PF interest credited only upto Mar 2017. 2. PF rule mentions PF interest for 36 months after the monthly PF contribution stops. So, I understand that I am eligible to get interest on my PF Balance till Oct 2019. Pls confirm. Thanks in advance Gopalakrishnan

Dear Gopalakrishnan ji, The interest for 2018 has been notified recently and for EPF members it is yet to be reflected in their Passbooks. For few Members, it has been reflected in Sep - Dec months. Yes, you are eligible to receive the interest on your accumulated EPF balance. But, do note that interest accrued during non-contribution phase is a taxable income. Kindly read :
