Hi Sree, myself and my wife has separate apy accounts. Recently my wife was passed away. Can I possible to get corpus amount? What are documents I need to provide for that claim? Thanks, Karthikeyan.

I have applied for APY for my husband an year ago. subscriptions are regular. Unfortunately my husband died on 24 th may 2017.
So please clarify what are the benefits of I close the Apy or benefits if I want to continue in the name of me (Spouse). Please clarify what will be the corpus amount that will be credited. I subscribed for 5000 rs pension. And paid rs. 824 per month for 10 months
Thanks
Amala

Hi Amala ji,

You can either close the APY account, get the lump sum amount now (or) can continue the APY account and get the pension of Rs 5,000.

The lump sum amount that is refunded can be the contributions made by your husband to APY, along with the net actual interest earned on the contributions (there is no clarity on the % of interest).

Else, you can continue the contributions for the remaining period (till original subscriber’s age of 60) and you can get the pension amount for life-time.

Dear Karthikeyan, Please accept my deepest condolences for your family's loss. On death of subscriber who is of less than 60 years of age, the spouse can receive the corpus amount but pension is not payable.   You may kindly go through this Circular (Claim form is also attached).

Dear Sree,

What is the corpus amount I will receive..some saying, monthly paid amount till the death of subscriber only I can get.please clarify.
2. How long the claim process will take?

Sreekanth Staff replied 9 years ago

Hi.. Yes, contributions till death of original subscriber + some interest on that will be refunded, if APY account is closed.

I am not sure on the time-line part.

Karthikeyan replied 9 years ago

Then what is difference on the corpus amount in both cases 1. Death 2. Premature exit?

Sreekanth Staff replied 9 years ago

Hi..
Death & Pre-mature exit are not two different options.

On death of the husband (contributor), the spouse (wife) can take premature exit from the scheme

The other option given to her is to continue with the APY scheme and contribute (till husband’s age of 60 years) and then take pension amount life-time.
