My mother sold a land and invested capital gains in Capital gain bonds which are exempted from tax.All this she did with the name as mentioned in her aadhaar card. Name mentioned in her PAN card is different. She can't change her name in the PAN card as same name is registered in Army records for pension purpose and in Army there is no option of name change. Now, how can she file return since there is mismatch in PAN card and the capital gain bonds she has taken (and also in the records for selling land)?

I believe that this is not an issue as far as this investment and tax filing for FY 2017-18 is concerned.
Kindly note that linking deadline of Aadhaar with PAN has been extended till Mar 2019.
You may suggest her to get her name in Aadhaar corrected at the earliest and link Aadhaar to PAN at the earliest.
