If short term capital loss from debt mutual fund is Rs 60,000 and short term gain from delivery stock is Rs 1,00,000 then can the short term loss from debt fund be set-off against the short term gain from stocks. If yes then how will net short term gain which is Rs 40,000 be taxed when filing the return. Shall this amount be taxed @15% or will this amount be added to the income and taxed according to the slab?

Hi, Yes,  Short term capital loss arising out of both equity and debt mutual fund can to be set off against short term capital gain of equity or debt mutual fund.  I believe that you need to pay tax @ 15% on the net amount.
