What is the risk level in investment in banking and fin services mf, as compared to other equity mf. Any recommendations for 2017 in banking and fin services mf?

Bank nifty has one of the top performers in this year.
Though there are concerns related to Non-performing Assets held by most of the banks, the sector itself is poised for good growth in the coming years, thanks to Demonetization and Govt's encouragement regarding Financial inclusion, digital payments etc.,
However, sector specific funds can be very risky as the sectors can be cyclical in nature. So, an investor can first identify good diversified equity funds or regular funds and then add a Sector fund to his/her portfolio.
