My grandfather had purchased 75 shares of Tata Steel many years back. They are in physical form. My grandfather is no more. What can be done in this case to get the shares into my demat? Please suggest.

Hi, If your Grand father has written a WILL, then the owner of shares can be as per his WILL. In case, WILL is not written, Legal heirs as per the law of succession are the owners of his physical shares. If you are sole legal heir, you can submit transfer of shares request to the concerned Company's Registrar.  You may have to submit below certain documents along with the Physical Share certificates.  Kindly go through below articles, can be useful to you ; https://www.relakhs.com/nominee-legal-heir-will-importance/   Article - 2
