Sir, The State Bank of India Branch at Lucknow  has recovered an amount of Rs. 11060/- from some multiple fixed deposits during FY 2018-19.  However, even after passage of more than 4 months,  Multiple requests to issue the Form-16 or TDS certificate is not heeded by the Branch.  We have submitted the PAN details also and also uploaded into the online portal of SBI.    Due to this reason, I could not claim refund of Rs.11060/-.  Kindly advise: (1) How to get the Form16 or TDS from SBI (2)  How to claim the TDS amount from Income Tax. I have filed the Return for AY 201920 to avoid closing date. Thanks

Hi, Kindly note that Banks issue Form 16A and not Form 16. Did you check your Form 26AS?   Kindly read : Understanding your Form 16 & other Tax related forms (Form 16A & Form 26AS)

Yes, Sir. I admit my mistake. It should be Form16A. I have checked the Form26 AS even just before posting this question. It does not contain the above deduction. Assuming the recovery is done in 4th Quarter, they should have uploaded in 26AS at least in July, 2019. Our repeated requests and sending personal representatives, they are not issuing the Form 16A and uploading the details. Meanwhile, my ITR1 has already been processed. I do not know, how to get back the amount deducted as Income Tax of Rs. 11060/-. Kindly advise.

Hi, Oops..its not a mistake! I was just clarifying it :) I believe that most of the banks have automated the TDS deduction and uploading processes. If your banker has deducted TDS then should upload the TDS statement (entry) and it should get reflected in your Form 26AS. Suggest you to kindly write a formal email to your bank customer care regarding this, if they do not respond promptly then you can approach the Bank's Ombudsmen.

Sir, The RBI Banking Ombudsman Scheme by RBI is only with respect to DIGITAL TRANSACTIONS. I do not know whether the non-issue of TDS by a Bank can be taken as Digital Transactions. Sir Instead can I have the procedure to approach Income Tax Department or RBI for non-issue of TDS timely and failed to upload the details in 26AS. The complaint placed through onlinesbi portal had not yielded any results. thanks.
