I had been in IT sector with my first company joined on 03-11-2014
My Company opened my PF account and gave me UAN number. At that time, the employer's contribution was also towards EPS as per rules.
So my contribution went towards only EPF but employers contribution was divided into EPF and EPS as per Indian govt. rules.
On 24-01-2017, I discontinued my services from the employer and at that time I chose to withdraw PF money from them. (employer has its own PF trust).
After withdrawing money I thought that I had no longer been the member of EPF and EPS and when I joined my new company on 30-01-2017, I filled Form No. 11 in which I stated that I was not the member of EPF and EPS(as I had withdrawal the money, not transferred it). With my current employer, I have the basic salary of more than Rs.15000, so my current employer opened new PF account with new UAN and starts to contribute whole of its share towards EPF as per rules formed on 01-09-2014 (if one has basic salary of more than Rs. 15000 and is not member of EPS, he/she can't become so).
So please help me as I want that my share should be contributed towards EPS also. I am afraid that if scrutiny of EPF/EPS occurs in future that:
1.if you were part of EPS earlier then why did you declare with the employer in FORM-11 that you were not.
2. How have you two UAN numbers?
Please help me in that : I want that I should not be in trouble in future

Hi,
1 - Suggest you to tell your current employer about your case clearly. Let them know that you had earlier contributed to EPF scheme and if it is possible to change your components of your EPF account.
2 - You may write to EPFO about this two UANs and can get the old UAN deactivated.

Hi Shreekanth ,I told person from Payroll team about this and they told me that now it can’t be revised so let it be as it is. They told me that EPFO department will automatically deactivate your old UAN number if you have withdrawl from there. So they can’t contribute in EPS . I just ant to be on safe side. Should I ge this statement from them on email?
Hi,
Just because an employee withdraws EPF balance, I dont think EPFO will deactivate UAN.
So, you may check with EPFO too about the status of old UAN.
Hi Shreekanth , Can I withdraw EPS from my previous account in this case as I have two UAN's (1 UAN:(BOTH EPF AND EPS) 2 UAN (ONLY EPF).Also once the balance gets credited into my acount then I will inform EPF about old UAN. ,I told person from Payroll team about this and they told me that now it can’t be revised and you can't contribute to EPS so let it be as it is.I just ant to be on safe side. Should I get this statement from them on email as if something happens that you didn't inform your employer in future?
Hi,
You have mentioned that you have already withdrawn PF amount, have n't you received EPS amount during that time?
More than employer, you may have to get confirmation from EPFO, as you may change your employer in future.
So, get clear statements from both of them (EPFO & current employer).
Hi shreekanth
Since my previous organisation was exempted org. (own trust) , they gave me only PF (will be credited today) after tax deduction. Regarding the wrong declaration that I was not member of EPS in my current organisation, I have informed them that please start to contribute in EPS but they said that now it can't be revised . I have informed about this to my EPFO depptt over mail keeping PF commisionner in CC but they have not responded. My current org says that you should withdraw from old EPF and EPS account as if you will transfer it then EPS money will go nowhere as here you don't have EPS account. So better you withdraw it and in future you should give current UAN and tell next employer that you were not part of EPS.
I have informed this to my current employer and current EPFO depptt. so that I shouldn't be in trouble in future.
I have mail tat I sent to EPFO deptt. but I don't have any written or mail frfom my current employer.
Hi,
If you apply for EPS withdrawal, chances are there that EPFO may track that you have an active new UAN.
If so, you may then ask them to deactivate it.
Ok, Shreekanth.... Is it the matter of risk in future? Should I need to worry about my money in my current EPF in future? actually right now I am little bit.
IF EPFO blocks old UAN, I believe it should be fine and you may continue quoting current new UAN in future too..
Thanks Shreekanth
Once amount is credited into my accounted with tax deduction , I will write mail to respective EPFO dept:: to deactivate my UAN in grievance system or should I send them letter?
Hi,
As per EPFOs FAQs list, below is the suggestion;
In such a case (multiple UIANs allotted), you are suggested to immediately report the matter either to your employer and through email to uanepf@epfindia.gov.in by mentioning, both - your current UAN and your previous UAN(s). After due verification, the previous UAN(s) allotted to you will be blocked and the current UAN will be kept active. ..
Hi Shreekanth , the email is inactive. I have oherwise informed my employer and EPFO dept:: thru mail
