Hi Sreekanth, I need your input for the child education planing. My investment horizon is 4 to 5 years. I had read your article on How much do i need to invest for Child education and Best Mutual fund scheme 2017. I need your guidance in type of MF I have to select. What % in each 1) Large Cap 2) Mid-Cap 3) Balanced. Thanks Thothathiri S

Dear Thothathiri, Sure. Do you currently own any mutual fund scheme(s) or made any investments towards Kid's education goal? Have you arrived at the required corpus using the available calculator? May I also know if you have adequate Life and Health insurance cover(s)?

Hi, As your investment time frame is around 5 years, suggest you to allocate more (also any additional corpus) to balanced fund(s) which you are currently holding.

As goal year approaches, you may gradually switch to safer investment avenues, may be 1 to 2 years before reaching the goal year.
