I have invested in Birla Sun Life MIP II Wealth25.
There was a mail regarding a change in the portfolio of this fund and it says-
We would like to inform you that in accordance provisions of SEBI (Mutual Funds) (Amendment) Regulations, 2017 dated February 15, 2017 and SEBI Circular SEBI/HO/IMD/DF2/CIR/P/2017/17 dated February 28, 2017, Birla Sun Life Trustee Company Private Limited (Trustee to the Fund), has approved the proposal to make investments in the units of Real Estate Investment Trust ('REIT') & Infrastructure Investment Trust ('InvIT') by Birla Sun Life MIP II Wealth25,("the Scheme") with effect from April 12, 2017 ('Effective Date'), subject to applicable investment limits.
I guess you would have also been notified on this. I would like to know about what comes under this REIT & InvIT. Like an example to understand the impact on this fund in terms of risk involved thus affecting the timeframe of investment in this. Medium terms (3-4y) or should we consider this only for long term (5+ y)

Yes, i have also received the mentioned notification on my mail ID from Birla AMC.
This fund has an aggressive portfolio allocation to Equities from last few years.
Based on its investment objective, it can invest up to 30% in Equities. And now it can also invest in Real estate Inv Trust units of up to 10% (max). So, in total up to 40% (max) of fund's allocation can be in Medium to High risk securities.
So, we may have to increase our investment horizon if possible. But we need to track the fund's portfolio to know if they are going to invest up to 40% or not.
