Hi, May I know your/Mother's investment objective and time-frame for this corpus?

hi… objective is not to loose more returns by putting in FD than in MF… as seen from ur blog, MF are risky but still provide good returns than the FD scheme… and the tenure can be 3- 5 years.

Hi, For a 3 to 5 year horizon, suggest you to not invest in Equity funds, if you do not like to take risk. Kindly note that returns from FDs are guaranteed but its not the case with Mutual Funds. Also, past performance may or may not be repeated. You may have a look at Short Term Debt Funds for an investment horizon of around 3 years. Debt funds can be more tax efficient than Bank FDs.

hi Sreekanth thanks for your quick reply. But if we are willing to take risk by investing in equity… is there any good Large cap Fund can u suggest for us? or REIT will be a better option of worth taking risk?

Hi, You may consider a large cap fund like SBI Bluechip / Birla Frontline Equity / Franklin Bluechip etc., You may also consider hybrid (balanced fund) like HDFC Hybrid Equity fund. REITs have not yet really kicked off for retail investors in India. Related articles :
