I already invest in :
MFs Debt,Balanced,Equity and SIPs.
Also Bank FDs for Emergencies only.
PPF every year.
Now please advise about the following into which I have not yet ventured
1.Shares
2.Bonds
3.Debentures
4.Gold
5.Postal saving schemes
6.LIC
Buying Real estate is prohibitive for me.

Dear Dr Vijaya,
As your primary investment objective is to create long term wealth. You can surely consider combination of different assets mix.
You may rule out Life insurance plans (especially traditional plans like money-back, endowment etc.,) for long term accumulation.
You may venture into Shares, Debentures, Bonds...
Personally, I do not like investing in Gold for long term, if it is not for consumption.
