I have been following your posts from the past few months. A big Thank you for educating people out here.
I would be so grateful if u advise me on my first investment. I want to start a mutual fund SIP (say R's 5000) from now. I would like to go with balanced funds (equity oriented) as I want both growth and security. Is that a right decision? Also help and let me know is this the right time to invest? The reason is due to demonetization by govt.

You may kindly go ahead with HDFC balanced fund (assuming you can remain invested for atleast 3 to 5 years from now).
