Regarding Balanced Mutual Fund investment

Q & A ForumCategory: Mutual FundsRegarding Balanced Mutual Fund investment

Dear Srikanth, How are you doing? I need your suggestion once again regarding mutual funds. As mentioned earlier, I am already investing in mutual funds via sip mode. Now, I want to add a Balanced Fund for my long term goal i.e after 10 years. I am already investing in HDFC Balanced Fund for a mid-term goal i.e. 5 years.
  1. Is it a wise decision to create another SIP with HDFC Balanced fund for my long term goal as well?
  2. If you have any other recommendation with other Balanced fund for long term commitment, kindly advise.
Thanks in Advance. Rama Krishna

Dear Rama Krishna, I am doing good, thank you. How about you? May I have the details of MF schemes that are part of your Long-term goal portfolio??

Dear Rama Krishna, (Below is my reply to your answer posted as PRIVATE) You may consider making additional investments in your mid-cap fund (10+ years) itself. Else, you can allocate major % of your investible surplus to mid-cap fund and the remaining amount to existing balanced fund.

Dear Srikanth, Thanks for your response. Just a small question to your response. Rather than making additional payments to my existing mid-cap fund, do you think it would be a good idea to add my additional investments to Franklin India smaller COS fund and balanced fund by 40:60 ratio. Kind Regards, Rama Krishna

Dear Rama Krishna, If you would like to take aggressive approach with your new investments then you may do so. Franklin smaller cos fund is a decent choice.
