My wife has income from interest on Deposits which will be much below the taxable limit. The income as estimated for FY:16-17 (AY:17-18) will around Rs.1.5lakhs. It has always been much below taxable limits in the past years also. So she had not filed her return. I find that in the new Form 15H under 14(a), it has to be said "No". I think it is ok as it is only correct. Please advice me if I am not correct:otherwise kindly confirm.

Hi,
I believe that you are referring to 'point no 15' of the new Form 15H. If your wife has not filed her income taxes in the past, she can mention i'NO' for the question 'Whether Assessed to Tax under Income Tax Act 1961'?
