Hi,
Considering the current market state, lump sum investment and your investment time-period, advisable to consider investing in Equity oriented balanced funds and/or some portion of corpus in a diversified equity fund.
Ex : HDFC Balanced fund, Birla Equity / Franklin Higher Growth cos fund etc.,
Mid/small caps have higher risk profile than diversified/balanced funds.
In case, you understand the risks associated with mid/small cap funds and can afford to take risk, you may consider funds like ;
HDFC Mid-cap opp fund / Mirae Emerging Bluechip / Franklin Smaller cos fund etc.,
