Hello, so in todays budget they announced 10% tax even on equity mutual funds for more than 100k gain. What do you think is better option now? Debt fund or equity fund depending upon risk and tax benefit? And is there any field of investment left where we can take risk and save tax?

Hi, Let's not pick an investment option based on TAX implications alone. For Long term goals, I still believe that Equities or Equity mutual funds are still the best option. Kindly read : https://www.relakhs.com/10-ltcg-tax-equities-budget-2018/

Hi thanks for writing such article.. I have no plan or need to withdraw money and continue my investments I wanted to ask if someone hold the mutual funds like 2-3 years, and in case next year or later they eliminate this 10% tax on LTCG and we withdraw money after 2years will it be tax free or still the tax applied for the year 2018-19??

Hi, Let's not assume anything about future possible tax changes. Let's invest in a financial product based on the current scenario.
