Hi Sreekanth, Glad to be a part of your network. I have read some of your articles. Very useful info. I have already invested in Sukanya, ppf, lic plan upto rs1.5L under 80c. I now wanted to start investment in Mutual fund market, sip, elss etc for investment purpose. I can invest Rs25000 per month. Could you please advise which one is better to invest for 3-5yrs with less risk where I can get GOOD RETURNS as compared to FD, PPF, Sukanya. Shall i opt any direct plan etc. Pls advise. Looking forward for your revert..Thanks Regards Ravi Delhi

Dear Ravi, Can I have details of your LIC policies ? (Plan name, commencement date, tenure & sum assured). For a time-frame of around 5 years, you may consider Equity oriented Balanced funds. Ex _ HDFC Balanced fund / SBI Balanced fund etc., Kindly note that mutual funds are subject to market risks.  Suggested readings: https://www.relakhs.com/top-best-balanced-mutual-funds-returns/ https://www.relakhs.com/direct-mutual-fund-plans-buy-online/ https://www.relakhs.com/mutual-fund-direct-plans-vs-regular-plans/

Dear Ravi, If you have dependents, you have to consider increasing your Life cover. The above mentioned traditional plans can neither give your adequate life cover nor give you decent returns on maturity. Suggest you to consider a Term insurance plan and you may then discontinue these traditional low yielding policies. Hi, Yes, you may consider Balanced funds. You can invest either in 2 to 3 installments over next say 3 months.
