Hi Sreekanth, For 1 Lakh and below there is no need to submit rental receipts as per the rules.Then what is the need of calculation of 1) HRA received from Employee 2)40% of basic 3)Rent paid by employee - 10% basic Why there is a need of taking minimum of above three.can't we claim without submitting any PAN of Landlord for 1 Lakh rental. For the rent of 8300/- if we submit the rental receipts then also they will consider the minimum of three when the candidate is having more HRA as the theirsalary. Please advice me how to claim for 1 Lakh rental. Thanks Harish

Dear Harish, I believe that one needs to submit rental receipts the Employer to claim HRA. Based on the submitted data, the applicable HRA exemption is calculated.
