My query is related to GST. As per the media news, my understanding is that there will be huge inflationary impact of GST on white good items like Refrigerator, AC's, Television etc. Could you please provide your opinion on this. There was some news of 15% cess on white goods. Please advise.

Hi,
I believe that implementation of GST bill can lead to increase of prices on some products and few other products' prices may decrease.
So, we need to wait and see the net impact of this and it may take time for things to settle down.
Kindly note that GST rates vary for different product categories.
As per Finance Minister's yesterday's statement - "The basic principle to determine tax on items will be to find out the current tax components and bracket them under the nearest tax slab so that the prices do not increase."
