Hello Mr. Sreekanth,
Myself Prasad planning to take personal family floater Health Insurance. My family consists of Myself (34Yrs), my Wife (30Yrs) and my Daughter (4yrs). Currently I am working in a corporate company and have 10 Lacks family insurance covered from my company side. Also along with this I have one term insurance for myself for 1 crore (personally bought).
My question is do I need to go for one more family insurance NOW apart from my company insurance? Is it necessary to take now or after 10 years? If "Yes" please suggest how it will be advantage considering mine and my family age.
Below are some of the advantages I found after going through some insurance companies website(ICICI Pru):
- If we take any insurance outside, then pre-medical checkup will not be there before 46 Yrs.
- If we take at early stage of life, then premium will be less compared to if we take at older age (say 40 or 50 Yrs). But with this point I found that the premium difference is not very high. It was coming apprx 2K to 5K. For example, if I take insurance for a 35 yrs person, the premium was 20K, if I take the same insurance for 45 yrs, the amount was 22K. With this small difference, is it worth to go for second insurance at this age?

Dear Prasad,
Kindly go through below article ;

Yes, Cost of insurance is one of the factors, but what about insurability? What is the guarantee that an individual remains healthy and fit after 10 years? Will he / she get the insurance cover or not at that age?
The premium rates may not remain same, given the medical inflation that is prevailing in our economy.
Kindly do not depend on Company provided health cover alone..get yourself a stand-alone health insurance cover for self and family.
