Dear Sreekanth,  I've the following two queries regarding EPF: 1.  My EPF account is still reflecting interest upto 31/3/2015 only. Usually by what time frame will it be updated to reflect interest upto 31/3/2016. 2.  With the govt recently announcing that old PF accounts will also be eligible for interest, does this mean that one can now keep the PF money beyond 3 yrs after retirement and still get prevailing interest?  Regards  Prakash

Dear Prakash, 1 - Suggest you to wait for some more day (may be till May 1st week) and then check your EPF Account Statement. 2 - The notification has not clearly mentioned about the in-operative accounts after the retirement age (58years). So, as of now it is not clear if interest is paid on the accumulated balance even after the retirement age (if the balance is not withdrawn) . Read: How EPF A/c interest is calculated?

H Sreekanth,
I had changed my job last year and I got interest credit till 31st March 2016 only. There is no interest credit after that i.e. 31st March 2017. Could you please advise what should I do.

Hi,

As per the latest news reports, the EPFO is planning to revise (downwards) its earlier announced rate @ 8.65%..the board is going to meet this month end (Sep) and finalize the new rate it seems..so let’s wait couple of weeks more..

Hi, For the financial year 2016-17 (march 2016 to april 2017), looks like the Interest amount (cr) has not yet been updated in the EPF members' passbooks. You may get it soon! In case, you are contributing to EPF scheme again, suggest you to transfer the funds from your old EPF a/c to new/current EPF account. Kindly note that UAN remains the same.
