Hi Sreekant,
I have been a regular follower of your forum directly or through facebook for last couple of years.
One question is popping up in my mind. Thus need your expert opinion on that.
I followed your article on best mutual funds 2015/2016/2017 and also your portfolios for these years.
Your portfolio also suggests that you have invested mainly in ELSS schemes in terms of Large Cap/Flexi cap investments other than balanced fund and smaller companies fund.
Also my observation from google is ELSS fund return beats Large Cap/Equity MFs for a long investment period.
Some forums states that ELSS funds the fund managers have advantage of planning because of locking period hence gives better return.
Question : Should I replace my Large Cap/Flexi Cap/Mid Cap investment with the ELSS bucket keeping long term horizon in mind to get better return?
Even though 80c bucket is being filled through PPF/LIC?
Thanks in Advance,

Dear Sourav,
Thank you for being a loyal reader!
Yes, I do consider ELSS funds are typical Diversified / Multi-cap funds. Most of the popular ELSS funds are multi cap ones.
But, its a tricky question to answer, as there is no right or wrong answer to your query.
Different funds for different time-periods may give different interpretations/results.
Personally, I believe that if tax saving is not one of the objectives, may be one can stick on to regular diversified equity funds only. Flexibility and liquidity can be one of the factors to watch out for.
