Dear Sir, I had some physical share certificates of L& T which I have converted to Dmat. Now I received mail from L& T that still there are some shares certifcates ( As a bonus ) on my name which need to be Dmat. These physical certificates were never received to me. Now police are not ready to lodge FIR ( which is need to get duplicate certificates)as certificates were never in my possession. Now Karvy is not responding. Last date of Dmat is 31st March 2019. Let me know how to proceed

Hi, Suggest you to reply to the email received from the L&T and inquire on this. You can escalate the issue to the SEBI if Karvy do not assist you.   if your shares are in the physical format, bonus shares will only be given to you in the physical format.  The process of having duplicate share certificates issued is even more cumbersome. The shareholder would have to send his request for issue of duplicate share certificate accompanied by, affidavit, indemnity bond, surety form, proof of income of the surety and receipted copy of police complaint reporting loss of share certificate and voucher copy of advertisement released in local newspapers regarding loss of share certificate.   Related article : https://www.moneylife.in/article/struggle-for-equity-investors-holding-physical-shares/29312.html
