Hi, In most instances, it's the GREED to earn more or to make quick money, which leads to big losses in stock-market.  Kindly forget about what has happened and learn from the mistakes. Your expectation of 12-25% returns from mutual funds may or may not be achieved in 3 to 5 years. You may consider investing in a balanced fund and in an aggressive MIP fund for next 3 years or so. Do you have term insurance in your name? What about health cover for self/family?
