Hi , I am a govt servant and have retired just now. I do not have any liability as such ( means no loan and children are well settled ). I would be getting pension which will take care of my regular finances . So apart from having 15 Lakh FD and 10-15 lakh surplus for my medical emergency i wish to invest my surplus money (around 20 lakh ) in mutual fund. Request you to suggest if i should go with STP /SIP or directly invest in quality stocks. Also in case of STP give your recommended funds and time duration for STP. I am long term investor ( greater than 3 years looking for more than 12 % return )

Dear Sir, May I know your investment objective for this investment? Is this for wealth accumulation? If it is for wealth accumulation, considering your profile and if you can remain invested for longer duration (say 5+ years), you may consider couple Balanced Mutual Funds. You may opt for STP route, so have to pick respective AMCs liquid funds for STPs to Equity balanced funds. Ex : HDFC Liquid Fund -> STP -> HDFC Balanced fund.
