Dear Imran,
You have an Emergency fund, insurance cover and a home to live, so basics are covered :)
It is the right time to start planning for your long term goals and begin investing!
You may pick one Large cap, one diversified equity fund and one balanced fund to start with. If you would like to take little bit more risk, can allocate some amount to mid-cap fund as well.
Ex:
Birla Frontline Equity / SBI bluechip fund
Birla equity / Franklin Prima plus / ICICI Value discovery fund
HDFC Balanced fund
Franklin Prima / HDFC mid-cap opp fund etc.,
