Hi Sir, I am 26 year old, till now my saving strategy was either Fd or Rd, now I wanted to start investing in mutual funds.  I don't have any investment in MFs now.  Hence would request you to provide some help on any documentation that I should do like KYC document.  I got to know that i need to provide my Pan card details while submitting  But my name in pan card has some spelling mistakes and firstname and last name is reversed.  Will this be a problem? Forthe MF documentation? And please provide some insight on demat account (I am not interested in trading currently) - I am having salary account in Axis bank- they told for me there is no charges as I have a salary account.  Give some more thoughts whether demat account is really necessary or if they are providing with no charges can I go ahead and avail it anyway?  Or is there any hidden charges    Looking forward to your response .

Dear Bharghav, Suggest you to get your PAN details updated first and then get PAN KYC done for mutual fund investments. Kindly click here, to know more details about correction of PAN details. Once the corrections are done, you can submit MF KYC forms at CAMS or you can also get eKYC done. Kindly read: How to get e-KYC done for MF investments? They might be offering a free Demat account based on your association with them. But what if you come out of your current company and join a different organization. So, suggest you to open a Demat account only if you require it. For Mutual fund investments, kindly note that demat is not mandatory. How are you planning to invest in MFs? Read:
