Hi Sreekanth,
I am planning to invest in Franklin India Tax shield fund to get my income exempted from tax. Could you please advice if I have to go for a DIVIDEND option or GROWTH option. Also for a SIP if it is started in Sep 2016 and ends by Aug 2017, are the units allocated in the month of Sep2016 alone are redeemable in Sep 2019 or all the units invested till Aug2017 are redeemable in Sep2019. Is it a wise decision to have an STP to some other ELSS by Sep 2019 just to save tax and yield moderate returns?

Thank you ,
Satya

Dear Satya,
You may consider opting for GROWTH option. Also, it is advisable to hold investments in ELSS fund(s) for longer period.
The units allocated in the month of Sep 2016 alone are redeemable in Sep 2019.
Like-wise the units of Oct 2016, can be redeemed after 3 years.
